OUR HISTORY
Therapetics Service Dogs of Oklahoma has been successfully placing well-trained service dogs with Oklahomans in need since 1992 as a 501(c)(3) due to the dedication of many volunteers, including our trainers, staff, and Board of Directors. Most importantly, Therapetics is a continued success due to the fabulous dogs we are able to train thanks to the generosity of individual donors, breeding kennels, and rescue groups. Take a moment to meet the volunteers and canines that make Therapetics great!
OUR MISSION
To enrich the life of persons with disabilities through the placement of
exceptionally well-trained service dogs.
It takes about two years and approximately $10,000 to train each service dog in our program. Despite the costs related to the care and training of a service dog, Therapetics places these dogs with individuals in need at no charge.
We also provide training and support to the client and service dog for the life of the partnership.
This is all made possible by the generosity of individuals who believe in the value of a life lived independently. Therapetics is run 100% by unpaid volunteers. We rely on contributions from individuals, businesses, churches, and civic groups.
WHO WE ARE
Therapetics is run by the Board of Directors and volunteer staff. Every person involved with Therapetics Service Dogs of Oklahoma is a volunteer.
